Where we stayed in 2000
Back in 2000, Alissa & I took our first "Without Kids" trip.
She wanted to visit Kittery, where she was born, and I wanted to visit Maine,
a place I had never been to. I had designs on seeing Mount Katahdin which as things turned out,
was too far inland to accomplish, and besides, climbing the highest mountain in the state
didn't really fit into the focus of the sojourn.

We booked bed-and-breakfast locations along the "Down East" coastal tour
to include Ogunquit, Bar Harbor and Eastport. Additionally, we were able to visit
New Brunswick, in Canada as well. The whole trip was an eye-opener for us:
we discovered that we could break free from our little family and have a good time together.

Plus, I still had the opportunity to do a little climbing, and Alissa was able to fulfill her
desire to revisit her roots. And we did all of this together.
