Alissa's Flowers


I know this isn't a flower: around here, it's a food crop.
Laura Ingalls Wilder called it "the pie plant." The Latin name
is Rheum rhabarbarum. It'll make you poop, Squeak says.

Alissa divided one humongous plant into four, a few years ago.
Each subdivision is prodigious, and crowded with red stalks.

Late season, transplanted rhubarb.
This is actually a berry pie, also from our garden. Just for example.
