Mount Lemmon
Mount Lemmon is Tucson's crowning glory.It rises north of the city like Leviathan. You can drive
to it via any part of the gridworks of Twentieth-Century roadway.
Both times I have climbed there, I have simply driven up the Catalina
Highway, until I got to where I was climbing (if I could find what I was
looking for). The highway itself is 27 miles long, ending close to the
9,157-foot summit, and rising 6000 feet above Tucson.
